Phenominal weekends are scarce, but I had one...

A wonderful weekend of good meals and a wonderful dinner party with great friends and as an added treat, a trip to see the Lipzzaner Stallions.

Arco arena is a little on the small and dated side though..it did have air conditioning though.

If you ever get the opportunity to see these horses and their very competent riders perform, don't pass on it.

The smoke has not been bad and we are blessed with nice blue skies today.  Better for those bronchially challenged.

Today, we've a few errands to run and I am going to buy a new Jawbone bluetooth headset for my phone as I've sold the old one to Gareth's nephew.

I hope you all miss me... I miss you.

The "World Famous" Lipizzaner Stallions

That, my friends, is what I am being treated to today by my Sister and her hubby.  I've seen them on the TV, but never in person...  It ought to be a great experience and I will take pictures too.
Gareth won't be going but he's seen them before so no big deal.
The smoke down here isn't as bad today, it did seem pretty bad last night on the way back from Sacto.
I am trying to resurrect a 'Money tree' that my sister decided to kill off by not watering.  I cannot see killing a living thing (regarding plant life only) unless it poses a threat to either a person or property.
My sister is happy today as I was able to cure the problems she was having with iCal, the calendaring program provided to Apple computer users.  I also backed up all of her photographs so if she needs to re-install iPhoto she won't lose any.
Getting ready to fly so see ya later.
The Stallions and the riders and the showman were great and the history of the horses dates to 400bc so there is some serious information about them.
They are the most graceful horses I've ever watched and they react so closely with the riders that you literally cannot discern the commands.  Humans could take note.

Smokin skies and burnin fields...

Wow, would you believe that I was awake at 4am... finally after tossing and turning for what seemed an eternity, I rose at 5:30 and finished up the trip stuff and waited sorta patiently for Del to show up.
6:15 and yet no Del... damn him !!  6:25 and here he is... Gotta love the guy.  Loaded up the luggage and bagged it for McDonalds for a quick run thru the drive thru... I bought breakfast and we were off like a flash.
We made it to the airport in a shade less than 2 hours.  Good conversation up and then he kicked me to the curb.
The flight left on time, only glitch was I couldn't bring my toothpaste or the shower door cleaner as they didn't fit into the anti terrorist guidelines at PDX.
Flight was good, about a hour and ten minutes end to end.  I sat next to an elderly zombie but thanks to recent inoculations had nothing to fear.
We landed in Sacto amidst more smoky skys than a 2-bit pool hall.  Lollie and Gareth made a quick pass thru the drop off lane and away we went.
Hit a few stores on the way to their place and now fixing to get some dinner, Sister is asleep so me and the Chink will make a food run.
I'll dribble more tomorrow.

100% Grade A Beef...

Well, that is what my Doctor said... in different words of course.  He did tell me that for a man my age I am in very good shape, although he would like to see me lose about 20lbs.
That is the only bone of contention he and I have ever had so I feel pretty confident that my weight will always be an issue for him to jab me about.
Beautiful day outside, it didn't start that way, but looks good now.
On the way home, I stopped at Costco and bought some multi-vitamins as I was nearly out at home
Omar has been busy spiffing up the tent and put some new flap ties on to keep the neighborhood vandals out.
Good luck on your Spanish test Leann, "can you say "taco bell"".  Rosetta Stone might be a good option for you, check it out.
Cathy, howdy.  Hope you are doing good, I am sure you are.

~ Hump day... the weekend commeth.

This day is always special to me and was even more special when I was in the work force. The week is half over and the weekend is just around the corner. Mine will be spent in California and a few more after that. I look forward to seeing my sister and her hubby and enjoying their company.
There will be many 'Mario' contests and I hope to whup their collective booty.  Omar says not to worry about the tent so I am confident all will be good when I return.
Cathy, I understand and don't mind being the pillar.  Friends are often the glue that holds our lives together.  It's said that time heals all wounds and I can attest to that as it certainly has closed the gaping wounds I suffered.  What it does not do, however, is fill the void.  We have to do that on our own.
Hey Leann... I was just thinkin, you gonna try out for 'cheerleader'??? after all, you are back in school *grin*.
Hallelujah !!! got the grass mowed and even used the catcher... Omar does that all the time, but I don't have a camel so have no need of it.
Yet another thing to check off the list...
Lollie, I am expecting some really fresh PBC's when I get there... would be a good idea to have some for the ride from 'Sacto to your abode...

How Sweet it is...

First, right out of the gate... Thank You Lord!!! what a beautiful day you've made for us here in the Valley today.  As much as we curse the winter and extended months of gray skies and damp, drizzle, on days like today Lord, we pay homage.

Very slow time here at the tent.  Beat some clothes on a rock and some tepid water in preparation for the journey South.  I will finish on Thursday afternoon.

I managed to scratch some lines on a flat rock and threw it to my Sister so she could jog her memory on what trailhead to meet me at.  I hope Alaskan hasn't joined with the others to charge extra for luggage.

As those of you capable of reading know, my musings tend to bounce around from the mundane to the intrepid and many stops in between... fear not ye sloths, tis by design that my quill pens the dribble that you read here.  Dig deeply though, and pearls of wisdom herein reside.

Not sure what this afternoon holds, but a good walk seems like a great idea.

Leann, hang in there my friend.

Cathy, got your email.  It was nice.

To the rest of the herd, cinch up your saddles and ride, baby ride.

INAGAIWOBIAGOAIEW (you've heard it before)

A dozen lovely thoughts for the ladies...

God will have a great adviser now...

I am so totally bummed out... George Carlin, one of the most 'American' americans ever to grace the globe is no long with us.  I will miss you buddy, You'd of made one helluva good president and I would have voted twice for you.

To those who might argue the fact, George carlin was a true blue american and he certainly was unashamed to tell it like it was.  I enjoyed so very many of his HBO specials and now will search out recordings of his to buy.

The weather here cannot seem to make up it's mind what it is going to do... started out beautiful blue sky and now overcast and leaning a little on the humidity button.  Omar hates this weather, says it make the sand in his shorts sticky... (I didn't ask).

Leann, it was nice, the short chat on MSN... Best of wishes for school and hang in there about the hours, you will make it... couple of chill pills and a good hookah with a load of hemp will mellow out your mind... *I thought it was funny*.  Anyway, my prayers are with your endeavors.

Cathy, remember that not every day is monumental but every monumental day is.  I won't have much to write about today as I really don't have any particular plans with the exception of a 3 hour WWE Raw special tonight... 8 to 11 is off limits.

I just entered two chances into Vince McMahons million dollar sweepstakes.  If I win something big on there... Look out world, 1st stop Winnemucca, Nv.

Well, no trip to Winnemucca tonight but maybe next monday who knows.  Good matches and lots of personnel changes...

Bed beckons and the lids are droopin...

'Tick, Tick, Tick...' times a' wastin

Friday won't come any too soon.  I will hop on the winged beast and before I can get a nap I will be landing in Sac town.  I am excited.. it will be a great time.
Vacations are something that I missed for the first 60 odd years of my life and now that I've no one to take with me, they are abundant.  At coffee this morning, I decided that I am going to sign up for the Rogue River excursion.
I get all wiggly inside thinking about being in a boat with 3... that's right '3' chevy 454 cubic inch V-8 engines (somewhere past a thousand horsepower).  Imagine if you can ripping down 18 miles of river (some of which ain't exactly been tamed) at 60+ miles an hour at times.... Good Lord !!! I will likely wet myself and it won't be with fresh water either *grins like a fool*.
The trip Gareth and I took on the American River out of Sac Town was a total blast and the first thing like that I've ever done... maybe jumping out of an airplane is on my short list now.  Hey, Leann, ever skydived???
Cathy, can you imagine your old buddy jumping out of a perfectly good airplane??  Something else I've thought about is bungee jumping... what the hell, ya only get to ride this merry go round once... why not make it count?!!

Crash!! Bang@#! Pow...

Jezzzzzzzz, what a way to wake up on a Saturday morning...And who do I get to blame?? Mother Nature, that's who !!
6:30am and just one single wall rattling crash of thunder followed by maybe a dozen quarter sized rain drops and it was all over.  At first, I thought it was my neighbor dragging a recycle container up his driveway but it wasn't.  Today was a grand opportunity for a good thunderstorm but it ran out of steam before it got started.
Went to McDonalds for coffee and after that headed to the Elks for the Saturday market... this was the second one of the season and not too many folks showed up.  There was a lady artist there who designs bird houses and has them built by someone else and they are gorgeous and only about $26 bucks.
After that I came back here, to the tent, and Omar's friend Henry was in process of weeding the flower beds.  Henry is a nice old guy and I don't mind paying him a pittance for weeding the flower beds every now and then.
I am going to rent the movie "The Bucket List" for some evening entertainment... any takers out there???  I would consider springing for a pizza.
Cathy, the 'Fried Green Tomatoes" sound good, we will revisit the idea next year.
Leann, you are lucky, every once in awhile you get a client that makes you truly appreciate the human race.
Well, not much else worth penning at the moment.... ta da !!

End of the beginning... another looms

Ugly !! that is all I can say about a morning when I couldn't sleep past 5am.  Now don't get me wrong, I am not a late sleeper by any stretch, but normally my rise time is about 6:30.  Don't know for the life of me what possessed me to wake up that early !!!
Coffee happened about 6am and after two and a half hours of that, I decided to hit the Senior Center for the meal delivery routine...  I only have 12 clients today, but the total mileage only dropped about .5 miles.  Tori is trying to level out the playing field a little.
Leann, thanks for the email and it's nice to see you back in the groove.  Lord, I've been writing a lot lately... Omar learned a new word..
Cathy, beautiful email, I appreciate your thoughts and it was my intent to try to lift you up and encourage you.  You deserve to search for the best and settle for nothing but that.  Don't look back, let that dust settle.
Look into the mirror and realize that the Lady who peers back at you is your best friend... you need to take her on a very nice journey and introduce her to the joy of a life fulfilled.  All things will come if you keep your eyes on the prize.  I have great faith in you.
The nicest compliment I could ever give you would be to call you my friend... you are that.
This morning after delivering meals, I came home and sprayed the vegetation in hopes of bringing about the early demise of the encroaching weeds.  I am not sure if it is a wasted effort or not, I do know it would be more effective if my neighbors did it too.
The thought of Chinese food seems to be lurking in the muddled depths of my mind so I may have that for dinner (at Sum Yan).  Too bad you are in Corvallis Leann, I would invite you to join me.  You do like Chinese don't you???  Perhaps another time, maybe next time you visit your brother. (friends do that ya know).
Well, the sky is clouding up a bit and that probably means the humidity will increase and that, my friends, will NOT tickle my fancy.
See ya on the flip side...

The "Green green Grass of Home"

I decided today that it was time to address the Dandylions and the other crawly vines that inhabit some of my "Oasis of Love".  Off to 'Green Thumb' with a handful of the encroaching villains.
I don't know what to call them that wouldn't offend my audience so "weeds" will have to suffice for now.  I showed the owner of 'Green Thumb' and of course he knew them personally and showed me the product that would eventually lead to their demise and, my happiness.
One specially for the Dandylions and of course, yet another for the crawly sticky thingys that live by the chain link fence and under the rhodies.  They're impending doom puts a smile on my face.
Lastly, he looked at the branch I brought in from the dogwood tree... I told him it was a virus and he, in his infinite wisdom, corrected me and told me it was 'Moss'.  No problem says me... and of course, yet another product (tree fertilizer) gets added to my skyrocketing list of demolition powders.
From there, I beat the camel's ass to WalMart where I managed to drop another substantial amount of coin on a short hose, a impulse sprinkler and some commercial grade shears for grass.
Once back at the tent, I placed the sprinkler, connected the hose and ran it over to the control valve.  I decided to try it out, and set it to manual and lo and behold that particular valve didn't survive the nearly never ending Winter...
Off goes me to Bi-Mart to see if they still carry the valve... luck would have it, yes and yet a mere $15 bucks.  Does it never end???  Back home, replace the valve and tried again... Dammit, batteries dying in the control unit... Lucky me, I have 3 new ones left.
Got it all up and going and the new sprinkler adjusted so now all I have to do is wait for what I know will be a water bill of Galactic proportion... which will lead to a bigger gas bill as I will have to mow more often...
Life is Grand.

Pssssssst...

Quiet.  Nothing special is happening today... But, Cathy is leaving for her home in Alabama.
I see loneliness in her eyes, it is a sadness that comes on the evening wind when the day is done and the night is approaching.  When it becomes so very quiet and the air settles and nothing moves.  It creeps into our souls and takes a grip on our heart.
Those are the moments of reflection, the times we question why and how did we end up here, alone and in the dark.  It was never the plan, not the direction we would choose, but the ultimate end of our dream.  Cathy, you don't walk alone... know that.
It is the Sunny days with whispy clouds and a light breeze that give us cause to appreciate life and search for the missing happiness.  I love the Sunlight and blue skies of Summer.  Each day changes happen, some good and others maybe not so good.  Luckily, as time goes on, more good ones seem to surface and we dig a deeper hole to bury the ones that are not so good.
Connections, that is what we wish for, but as we mature in age, they are more difficult to form because we look at others thru calloused eyes and a fog of critical judgement and the pain that we've suffered whether by others or self inflicted.  God is my salve and salvation and as my daughter said last Sunday at her church..., he never turns away or leaves us alone.
Wow.  That is totally deep enough of a thought pattern for now.  Back to things of happiness and joy.  8 days and I leave for Ca.  I hope my sister has plenty for me to do as I dislike just setting around with nothing to occupy myself.  I love working around the home.

Oregon Gloom... Gray skies today

Well things are basically back to normal, Omar swept out the tent and the residuals of his efforts lie everywhere.
Sister and her hubby are safely home now and tending to a slightly neglected yard, but at it's worst, it looks better than mine.
Cathy will be flying back to Alabama tomorrow and returning to her new life.  I am so happy for her and her new found freedom.  Oppression in marriage is a terrible thing to endure so I am pleased that she made the break.
We discussed the possibility that I may fly back there someday and we might attend the Talladega race together.  Time will tell.  Hi Cathy.
Leann is absent, although she said on her blog that she would have her computer with her, she's not yet posted so my assumption (and I hope I'm right) is that she is having a good time.
Laundry is the job of the day and perhaps mowing the yards if I get ambitious enough... we will see how the day goes.
I wish you all  the best.. continue the quest.

Well, Lollie and Gareth are on the plane headed back to El Dorado Hills, and I shall follow them after a short delay of a week and a half.

The visit was great, they enjoyed the time with Melissa and we had some good gaming here in the tent with the WII system.  I really like the Mario Kart game, but Gareth and Lollie and I all like Super Mario 64 which is what we played most of the time...

We did celebrate Cecil's birthday and took him to Moma Linda's and we had an excellent dinner there.

Saturday, as posted before was all about Melissa and graduation and Sunday, we went to the Presbyterian church as Melissa was speaking there.  A great time was had by all.

I got home just a few minutes ago from taking them back to PDX so they could catch their flight.  Truth be known, I am like totally bushed now.

On a lighter note... Leann- have ya whupped the cold yet?? or are you still in throws of totally miserableness... Neat word eh??  Sometimes lady I wonder about me.

To all who've read... thanks those who missed it... too bad.

Cathy T.  Wanted to say thank you for what you wrote in your email and I agree with you.  We all have a road to walk and it's not always paved.  You are doing very well and you look great too.

No promises, but I will surely work on Talladega.  JR. WON !!!!!!!!! OMG !!!!!!!
Life is good now.  Only thing better would be a platter of 'Fried Green Maters'.

See ya later and I hope your flight was good too.

A Missing moment

No post for yesterday... too many things going on what with Melissa graduating from WOU plus setting up (In my case, helping) The things at Julie and Greg's home for the impending party.

The graduation went nicely, and once the commencement speakers finished talking and they started processing the awardees, it truly did fly right on by and the good Lord provided a most beautiful day for the event.

After the ceremonies, Lollie and Gareth and I stopped and had lunch at J's restaurant in Monmouth... good food and nice people and the prices won't bankrupt you.

We got back to Lebanon about 4pm and by 4:30 I was over at Julies place, accompanied by Lollie, my sister.  We got things going and I set up the Oscar on a post that we drove into the ground as a landmark for those coming.  Lollie got the tables decorated and the whole affair went quite well.

At about 8:30 we decided to shag and come home and let Melissa and her friends continue the partying in our absence.

Melissa took me to lunch today to a neat bar in Albany.  Lollie and Gareth and Cathy were with us.  I ordered a $18 dollar steak dinner (Melissa insisted as it was her Fathers Day gift to me).  We had a great time and then I dropped her and Cathy off and Gareth and Lollie and I came home.

I got a call from Nick, then he had to go to the store and was going to call me back when he got home but that didn't happen... Nothing at all from Sean though...  He used to call more often.

A "Beautiful" Friday the 13th...

Hard to believe, that today, what with the vexing date, has provided us with such wonderful weather... Absolutely beautiful blue sky and perfect temperatures.

I was up early and had my coffee at McDonalds and after that, went to the Senior center to do my normal Friday deliveries of meals.  Today, I had 19 clients...  Tori said she is going to balance the routes better so we will see what it will drop to for mine.

Got home about 11:30.  Gareth and Lollie were barely up.  We messed around and had some breakfast and then about 1:45 Gareth and I took both pickups to the Presbyterian church to get what I had assumed would be cumbersome and very clumsy to move...

Lo and behold, the tables easily could be handled by a woman and I only would have needed my Toyota.  We delivered them to Greg and Julies place and He was there and said for us to unload them to the patio area which we did.  I asked Greg if he needed any further help and he said it was being handled fine now.

Gareth, Lollie and I will be taking Cecil and Margaret out to dinner tonight as a belated celebration of his 89th birthday.

Leann... Whence hath thee gone??

Enough for now...

Beautiful 'Sunshine' and nice temps...

I woke up early, I mean really early this morning, 5am... looked at the clock and decided that I truly have arrived at the beginning stages of Dementia... quickly jumped back into bed and managed to sleep till about 7:30.
Got up and dressed then headed down to McDonalds for my morning fix of caffeine.  The usual cronies were present and in fine form.  I met a lady who's hair is all the way down to mid-calf and is an author of rhyming cookbooks and other written poems.
The things that I found fascinating about her are firstly, she is a Pagan witch, plus she is a very attractive lady and even more striking to me was how open and outgoing she is.  Very self assured and optimistic about life... I appreciate that in a person.
It's 10:40 and Lollie and Gareth are still in their room and asleep.  Lord, I wish I had the capability to sleep that long but I just cannot do it.
Leann is in Eastern Oregon and sent some pretty nice pictures to her Blog... the Three Sisters are particularly nice looking... Good job Leann.. hope you're having a wonderful time.
Cathy... finally you get some warm nice weather.  Does it help??  I know it makes me feel much better when I can see blue sky.  There are some white clouds but none of the dark rain bearing ones... Thank you Lord, for that.

No "Nasties" today... I promise

Yesterday was my turn to vent about the "Gas" situation... glad that's over now.
I had a good trip to Portland to pick up bro and Sis for my daughters impending graduation on Saturday at WOU.  I am totally proud of her accomplishments.
We stopped at Ixatapa for dinner when we got back to Lebanon... my daughter called while we were there and I invited her to come join us for dinner.
We had a great visit there and I picked up the tab which my bro in law argued with me about but subsequently lost... (they buy for me a lot).
We all went to my home for a long overdue and extended visit.  Melissa left a little past 11pm to go back to Corvallis.  Lollie and Gareth and I stayed up till about 12:30 then I went to bed.
Cathy, thanks for the 'Southern folks' info... I really got a chuckle out of them.

Rape at the pump...

So, my dear fellow Americans... how does it feel, getting totally screwed at the service station without the benefit of the warm close feeling??

Finally, here on the good old home turf we are feeling what the Eurpoeans and Asians have felt for many years... Big Oil getting in our britches...

Ya know what the Saudis and the Venezuelans are paying for Oil??? No idea huh... Well about a quarter a gallon or so... You know why?? cause their Governments subsidies their oil... it is a government sponsored benefit provided to the people. I cannot apologize for writing this, no more than I can make excuses for the way our Government treats us. Money should NOT be the deciding factor but for the fat cats in W.D.C that, my friends is the bottom line.

Chinese venue and menu

Cathy and I decided that the Sum Yan restaurant would suffice for our lunch.  It is a great place to eat and the price was pretty reasonable for the Special lunch $4.50 per.
We had a great conversation, she catching me up on the details of her divorce from her husband of 30 years and of course news of the children and their children.
She is a nice lady, now, with direction in her life and the freedom to pursue it, she seems so very much happier, her BP is way down and she is off all her meds... amazing what Stress can do to reduce your quality of life.
ͤͤSo, Leann... a interlude perhaps?? perhaps an emotional 'testing of the water' or could in fact it be a family calling... Whatever the case, Have a Great time.

Domestically Challenged...

Well, today I did some deep cleaning of the main bathroom (SouthEast corner of the tent) and noticed that some of the cleaners that I use have this uncanny ability to take my breath away... literally !!

I spray, leave for a bit then come back and remove the debri and residue.  Need to keep the flap open though as the odors are concentrated.  Anyway, I figure to do the bowl this afternoon as I shall pay particular attention to it.

My Sister, God love her, has the unique ability to spot any areas that I might, in my elderly and somewhat decrepit state, manage to overlook.  So this time, I shall view all cleanings with a microscopic eye.  I will pass inspection this time.

If Omar would take off his gloves, we wouldn't have so much lint on everything.

I will leave in less than an hour to take Cathy, Julie's best friend, out to lunch as Julie has to work all day today.

 Apple does it again 

My Company of Choice

Gracious me how could anyone NOT like Apple??  Innovative company that produces hardware and software that actually makes you smile to use...

Don't have to install all kinds of virus blockers, worms and God only knows what else...

Programs that work right out of the box, no configuration files and numerous error screens and thank God no Internet Explorer to deal with.

Am I an Apple fanatic???  Damn right.  I worked with and supported the PC community for well over 20 years and I attribute all of my grey hair to that. (mostly).

I love my 20" iMac and will soon order a brand new 24" iMac just because I love them so much.  I think maybe I will buy the new 3G iPhone also... I can get the 16 gig model for $100 less than I paid for the 8 gig one I have now...

You think I am crazy?  Maybe so, but I don't have a woman to spend money on so why not indulge myself with something that is Double Darn guaranteed to give me satisfaction.

Wow, I am so totally stoked about the new stuff I can hardly sit here without wetting my pants.  Opppps, (ha !! gotcha).

Anyway, to each his/her own and with that said, my greatest compassion for you PC types out there.  If any of you want to switch, I will have my 20" iMac for sale when the new one gets here..

impulsive personality; a natural leader, who's quick
to make decisions,
though not always the right ones. They see you as
bold and adventuresome,
someone who will try anything once; someone who
takes chances and enjoys an
adventure. They enjoy being in your company because
of the excitement! your
radiate.

41 TO 50 POINTS: Others see you as fresh, lively,
charming, amusing,
practical, and always interesting; someone who's
constantly in the center of
attention, but sufficiently well-balanced not to let
it go to their head.
They also see you as kind, considerate, and
understanding; someone who'll
always cheer them up and help them out.

31 TO 40 POINTS: Others see you as sensible,
cautious, careful &
practical. They see you as clever, gifted, or
talented, but modest. Not a
person who makes friends too quickly or easily, but
someone who's extremely
loyal to friends you do make and who expect the same
loyalty in return.
Those who really get to know you realize it takes a
lot to shake your trust
In your friends, but equally that it takes you u a
long time to get over if
that trust is ever broken.

21 TO 30 POINTS: Your friends see you as
painstaking and fussy. They see
you as very cautious, extremely careful, a slow and
steady plodder. It
would! really surprise them if you ever did
something impulsively or on the
spur of the moment, expecting you to examine
everything carefully from every
angle and then, usually decide against it. They
think this reaction is
caused partly by your careful nature.

UNDER 21 POINTS: People think you are shy,
nervous, and indecisive,
someone who needs looking after, who always wants
someone else to make the
decisions & who doesn't want to get involved with
anyone or anything! They
see you as a worrier who always sees problems that
don't exist. So me people
think you're boring. Only those who know you well
know that you aren't.

•• Beautiful Sunny Sunday

Wow, I had forgotten just how nice the blue sky looked. It won't be exceptionally warm today, but the weather would certainly be adequate for some long overdue yard work or perhaps washing of a vehicle or two. I don't have that to do, as I already did it yesterday with the exception of washing my pickup. That, I may do today. If you are reading or keeping up with my Blog, here is a link to my most recent CraigsList personal ad. Simple and to the point.
As I read all the personal ads in the 'Women Seeking Men', it strikes me that they all seem to have the same flavor.  They are all looking for the same type of guy, they all seem to value the same characteristics in a mate and they all seem to love their family and friends and love to laugh and are tired of the 'bar' scene.
Very little originality exists in these posts.  Sadly, when you reply to many of them, they narrow down the parameters that they deem acceptable.
Tends to remind me of the folks who use cookie cutters to qualify christians.. if you don't fit their particular design, then you don't qualify.
My ad states simply that "There's more to the book than the Cover" and I think that philosophy should be used by all who seek a relationship... NO Exceptions.
Enough of that crap... Go forth Knights and Maidens and enjoy the bountiful harvest of good weather and better friends.

The "Rain" parade...

Ohhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

Yep, 'pissed off' is just about how I would feel if I had to be in the parade and walk from Walmart all the way up to Rose street in the cold damp weather...

I've been to every Strawberry Parade since 1995 and out of all of them, only one year, 2006 had really perfect weather.

Mostly I feel for the little kids, the fat cats in the cars have it made, but imagine being a little kid walking all that way.

Melissa was a Strawberry princess her senior year at LHS so that was a special year but now I really don't have the inclination to sit down there in the rain and watch the parade... plus the firetrucks scare me *laughing*...

On a lesser note, Leann, have you ever tried meditation as a method of relaxing before you crash out???  I used to do that, but I had the added help of being in a chemically altered state... *whew*  glad those days are a distant memory.  Thanks VietNam.

Dammit I hate having to backtrack and admit I was wrong but as usual, that Phreaking weather person lied... It didn't rain, but it for sure wasn't altogether too warm either.

Weird #@$t you can do...

A fine example of what I like to do... Things come and things go...
I should imagine that these types of goodies can and are often used but I didn't know if it would work here on my blog... nice to see it does.

Phreaky Phriday Has Cometh Again...

What can anyone say about today except 'ahem', rain, rain, go away...
I had coffee this morning at McDonalds as usual and then went to deliver the meals to my clients who I have no doubt would starve without intervention.
I had 18 deliveries today and it was damp and wet and dreary but I approached each of them with a smile on my face and a song in my heart.
These folks don't get out too much so if I can in some small way, bring cheer into their lives, I try to do so.
Leann, I almost sent you an email correcting your spelling until I realized, thankfully, that it was in a joking manner that you spelled it that way.  I am, if allowed, very proud to see you pursue a degree.
Hopefully that will allow you to move up the working class ladder and pursue even greater goals.  You deserve success and I am certain you will find it.

Woof Woof is here..

My good buddy and best friend Ralphy... I picked him up this morning about 6:30am.  From there, we stopped in at MacDonalds so I could get some coffee and he could garner all the pats on the head any dog could ask for.
Being the aristocratic gentleman that he is, he endears himself to everyone who sees him.  I must admit that he has a very charismatic personality and is not a 'licker' or a 'barker' so those characteristics are appreciated by the folks he is around.
Weather today, as in the past week really is pretty 'sucky'.  Hopefully at sometime Summer will descend upon us and will be openly welcomed too.
Too bad cats are not as well mannered. (Ok, most cats).  Leann, I knew you were lurking out there and unless I clarified that 'Cat' statement you would have pounced on me.  Your Tabby looks pretty kool though.

Hump day here and gone..

Wednesday, typically known as 'hump day' in the work force is once again upon us.  I would like it to be a nice warm sunny day, but it appears that it has it's own agenda and sunshine and warmth are not included.

I stopped at Roth's and did some shopping today for a 'Breakfast for Dinner' thing tonight.  I am seriously looking forward to some Jimmy Dean Sausage (hot) and perhaps some scrambled eggs and a couple pieces of whole wheat toast.  I don't cook often, but I will tonight as I don't have any friends that invite me to dinner *hint*.

Tomorrow, I will pick up Ralphy for a visit, Julie called yesterday afternoon to let me know that Ralphy passed his physical with flying colors and he weighs 77.5 lbs which is perfect
 for his frame.

Well Obama has it in the bag for the Demopubilcans so now the big question remains who he will tap for the VP slot.  Hillary would be a smart choice, but I along with many others believe there is way too much animosity between Barack and Michele and Hillary to get them all in the same bed together.  I think it would be an awesome ticket.

Males and 'Little boys'...

Morning Leann, I just finished reading your Blog and the mixed feelings you seem to demonstrate as related to your 2nd Ex.  Being overly curious, I also read the comments that were made in reference to your post.
Without the intention of being judgmental, I can put very little credence in Brad's post as I sense a little insecurity in him and possibly a little bit of femininity also which I am in no way belittling him for, just pointing it out.
As a fire breathing testosterone pumped type male (who also has feelings), I can tell you that men, in general, will hang on if there is ANY perceived chance that we can rekindle a relationship... this is basically to maintain the physical aspect of the relationship as opposed to the mental one.
Glen seemed to have a much better grasp on the workings of the typical male mind and I would be very inclined to agree with his assessment.
The bottom line is this Leann, the sharper the knife, the cleaner the cut and the easier the healing process.  Lingering thoughts of rekindling are extremely misleading and often cruel too.
Cut him loose and make it permanent... Move on girl.

Doldrums..."Gray" and damp...

There are few things that actually are capable of bringing me down emotionally... One that can and sometimes (not always) does, is a continuous flow of Gray, overcast and rainy days.  Much to be said for Vitamin D the "sunshine vitamin".

Luckily, I have things within the confines of my tent that can and do keep me occupied, but there is nothing more invigorating than a sun filled day with wispy clouds and a light breeze.  I know it's coming the question, of course, is when...

Leann... did you check to see if you have a pulse?? *grin*... WoW, that is quite a nap you took.  Fact is though, you are probably somewhat sleep deprived and the old body just decided to collect the debt.

We are, actually by design, a daylight animal.  I know many don't work days, but they all suffer from some deprivation because of the off hours they work.

Hope you got the gift bought and the directions obtained... Oh Yeah, and liked the rose bud...

Later people, Omar needs help...

And to think... it started out pretty

Here it is Monday yet again.  This morning at 6:15 it was very pretty, just a couple little whispy clouds in a otherwise blue sky and the temp was a shade on the brisk side.  My kind of day.
After coffee I headed down to Meals on Wheels for my deliveries and the day still looked pretty darn good.  By the time I finished and got home, 11:30 or so, the sky had already started to become more densely overcast and the temp had dropped several degrees.
Now the forecast is for rain this afternoon and the next couple of days too.  Looks to be a pretty short Summer.
I visited with Cecil and Margaret for a bit and sharpened a couple of knives for them.. (they will dull them up pretty quickly though).  I am getting more proficient with my sharpening kit and that makes me feel good.  I can put an edge on a knife that is better than new.
My friend Leann must (hopefully) be off today.. I wish the weather were better for her as she is a total outdoor lady... (aren't ya Leann??).
Well, off to see what the day will produce...

Jr. nation marches on and retains 3rd

Good Lord !!! When will Kyle Busch lose???  I am certainly not a Busch fan by any means, but I have to give the Devil his due.  That kid can drive.

Sadly, Dale Jr., once again, gets caught up in a early race altercation that he had absolutely nothing to do with... As a matter of fact, had Bobbie Labonte not run into the back of Jr., he likely would have come thru the melee unscathed.

As it was, he and others were relegated to the garage area for repairs, went down 10 laps and never was able to overcome the problems.  Great news is that he was able to stay 3rd in the points but added over a hundred to the distance between he and current leader Kyle Busch.

He will be back next weekend and I will root for him with all I have.  I really want to see him win.
