Saturday, wet, rainy but non the less, Saturday

Dec 04, 2010

Yesterday, we sent Uncle down to Marilao to pay the power bill which was 2,302p. Gave him money for the ride and bought him a pack of Marlboro for his efforts as per Nora's request. That, the last one, went against my grain as I don't believe it to be a good thing to promote bad habits and surely smoking is one of them. But so goes it here, in the Philippines.

Today, we awoke a little early, about 6:30am as Joyce needed to go to school... she was very reluctant to go this morning and of course, the She-lion, otherwise known as my wife, jumped in the middle of it and scooted Joyce off, protesting all the way. It is a comedy at times to see the interaction between Nora and the children... she is a she-lioness and when she barks or growls (which is often) they tend to move.

It rained most all night so everything smells fresher and for certain it is wetter also.

Brownout... happened about 7:45am and is still in effect so there is no power for the connection to the internet yet today. We don't know how long it will be off, but it could be for hours. Thank God it is not a hot morning where the fans would be sorely missed.

Say, I was wondering, I sorta introduced the children here in the little community we live in, the concept of hacki sac (remember the little leather covered ball of sand (about the size of a golf ball) that we used to kick to see how many successive kicks we could keep it in the air??) is there any chance that you could see if they can still be purchased and maybe how much they might cost??? I might want to make a purchase of some to distribute to the kids. you could put them in the box that you will ship.

Anyway, check that out and see what we might find out... tell the vendor you want to send to an orphanage here in the Philippines and maybe you get a discount... (thinking like Nora of course).

Well, we sorta plan to go to SM mall today, tentavely planned for 11am but we will see when it actually happens...

We ran out of gas to cook with this morning so I had to have Kenneth walk over to the store and buy another container... it usually lasts about 1 month and the cost is about 580p.

I will write more later maybe, I always hate to promise that and then not fulfill the promise so maybe is the key word...
